FROM THE BRIDE:
We dreamed of a relaxed summer afternoon wedding with evening garden party vibes, full of warm lighting and vibrant romantic tones. Thanks to the incredible team of kindhearted and extremely gifted vendors I found alongside Kari of Feathered Arrow Events, we managed to find a balance between understated elegance and bright creativity for the evening’s scenery. We wanted to give our loved ones a unique experience as a whole, filled with little personal details that would bring smiles to their faces and joy to their hearts.
We paired two different ideas together for our reception tables, with one color scheme representing my favorite warm tones while the cooler tables symbolized Casey’s favorites. Each lovely bridesmaid wore a different jewel tone, rounding out all of my favorite colors and only adding to the vibrance of the day! I was thrilled that Annie at Best Day Ever Floral Design leaned into my crazy idea of giving each girl a colorblocked bouquet of their very own, each as different as their velvet, chiffon, and tulle gowns. I felt that those features so beautifully represented each girl so well, right down to our two sweet junior bridesmaids! It was easily one of my favorite aspects of the day!
Our guests enjoyed a family-style dinner by candlelight under the most colorful sunset we had ever seen, with warm bistro lights only adding to the magic above. We also wanted to incorporate a mix of vintage rentals into the decor that brightly represented the joy we felt in having all those we loved with us on our special day. Our seating chart and table names reflected the different places around the world that mean the most to both of us, and I was very grateful to incorporate every aspect of my calligraphy business, With Love She Wrote, into almost every detail of our day. Of course we wouldn’t forget our beloved dogs who couldn’t attend the festivities! We brought the dogs into our cocktail hour by naming our signature drinks after them and by imprinting their sketches onto some pun-filled cocktail napkins!
Our ultimate goal was to leave our guests feeling loved, honored, and celebrated for being so influential in our lives. So many of our friends came together to help everything come to fruition, and that has to be one of the dearest parts of the whole experience for both Casey and me. We were overwhelmed by the graciousness and kindness of our parents, bridal party, and dearest friends. While we were focused on preparing for our marriage, our incredible vendors (now friends!) took great care in finishing every last task we could think of.
The whole day is still so vivid in our minds, and we often wish we could go back and experience it all over again. Nothing compares to having every single person who has loved you and made an impact on your life in one place. What an opportunity to show them just how loved they are in return!
