FEATURED ON STYLE ME PRETTY
Being from New Zealand, I’ve always had a special affection for anything that reminds me of my English heritage and wanted to create something different. Something that was old world, English inspired and romantic with some warm color and depth.
Kestrel Park Wedding Venue
We chose the breathtaking Kestrel Park in Santa Ynez for this editorial, one of the most magical spots in Southern California straight out of a Jane Austen novel with its 19th-century style English country house and 100-acre grounds. We took advantage of Kestrel’s beautiful light, historic details and the fields that had turned golden in the summer heat to set the scene. With warm honey, cream and terra-cotta florals by the lovely ladies of Bloom Babes to compliment the delicate nature of the venue, a dream was brought to life.
The Bride & Grooms Attire
Galia Lahav’s “Nevis” gown with the dramatic “Nova” skirt was the perfect feature piece to adorn our bride as she strolled through the gardens. Our groom wore a cream linen suit complimented by a brown wool vest inspired by Great Gatsby’s iconic suit. Delicate paper goods by Epoch Design, paired alongside tea-stained vintage poems, antique accessories and warm florals added character and history to our couple’s getting ready details. A headdress by Maria Elena, all in gold to reflect the bleached golden fields and the vintage feel of the bride’s gown was the perfect finishing touch to her look.
