KLENTNER RANCH WEDDING FEATURED ON STYLE ME PRETTY!
We have such a love for autumn weddings. This subdued fall wedding, with timeless details and warmth, was one of our favorite weddings we’ve ever had the joy of capturing. Nestled in the foothills of Santa Barbara, Klentner Ranch’s blossoming garden, lemon grove and european charm offered the perfect setting for Britney and John’s intimate garden wedding. The bride’s sweet love of lemon trees made it easy to fall in love with the venue. Set against a backdrop of the sea, they exchanged vows in front of their closest family and friends surrounded by an abundance of fall foliage and florals. Britney was dressed in a stunning willowby by watters gown that was perfectly accented by a loose low face-framing updo. In keeping with an al fresco feel, they held their reception on the lawn underneath strings of lights. Their tables were set with simple and elegant place settings that incorporated white dishes, soft pink napkins and richly textured florals – offset by earthy concrete candle holders filled with deep gold tapered candles. From the European charm of the garden to the perfect golden Californian light we were graced with, it couldn’t have been a more perfect day.
FROM THE BRIDE:
“John and I met three years ago when I moved from Boston to Los Angeles to be closer to my family. On a visit before the move, I attended a local church on the recommendation of a friend. Upon arriving at the church, the first people I happened to meet were the pastor and a handsome man with the kindest brown eyes I’d ever seen. Little did I know, I had just met my future husband and the pastor that would one day marry us. According to John, he was intent on pursuing me shortly after our first meeting, but given my extensive travel schedule, opportunities to cultivate a relationship were few and far between. Nine months later, following a handful of fruitless encounters, John decided to throw caution to the wind and ask me on a date. Being oblivious to John’s attempts to advance the relationship beyond a casual friendship, I was stunned (happily so). Not long after the first date, we both knew that we had found the person we had been praying for.
We targeted a wedding date no more than eight months following our engagement, so time was of the essence. Our first aim was to find a venue. I started by putting together an excel spreadsheet with more than 70 options. I realized not long after that I wouldn’t be able to do this without the help of a planner. A friend connected us to the incomparable Jessica Williams (Crowned Events) and it was evident from our first chat that she would be able to bring our vision to life: to honor God and throw a good party!
The ceremony and reception were held at Klentner Ranch in Carpinteria, CA. We and our guests, who had traveled from all over the country, gathered on an unseasonably warm November day. The ocean, shrouded in fog on our first visit to the property, was clearly visible, the warm sun having burned away any trace of the marine layer. The various elements of the day nearly matched the splendor of the setting — the delicious dinner, the unique and elegant flowers, the decadent banana cake and the killer DJ — each contributed to make it one that we’ll always remember.”
